I picked this from the Star today :http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2012/1/6/nation/10212570&sec=nation. A direct translation from Malay by our government agency!! What can I say? there goes our standard of English. Probably the person in charge used Google translator and did not check before publishing it on their website.
I wonder how they will translate “plug and play“………………………………………. better than “clothes that poke eyes“, I guess.
laughter is the best medicine, I thought politicians were already giving us jokes everyday………………..and now MINDEF?
No big deals about this article..not even too funny
Just change it..its just english
Able to write and speak in english better doesnt mean so excellent
Shame on you.
The problem is not just about someone’s English proficiency, but his or her or their refusal (or just plain laziness) to consult the right person who can make appropriate translation.
then again, google translate is free.
This appeared in a government agency’s website!! total embarassment to the 1st class civil service that our PM talks about. I presume you don’t know what a joke means! Everthing that are to be published need to be counterchecked. What happen to that? the guy was sleeping ?
Don’t we know that making the people ignorant and stupid is the BN’s way to stay
in power?
The rationale is: Stupid and ignorant citizens – BN will remain in power.
Clever and smart citizens – BN will be out of power.
Isn’t that simple and logical?
What a crap deniable statement, think carefully
