A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away there was a planet by the name of Pendora. As part of the transformation program, the Emperor of the planet Pendora decided in a typical “ Pendora Boleh” style to invite a well renowned academy from planet Uncle Samy to start an academy in Pendora. The academy supposes to train young padawans to become Jedis. These young padawans are enthusiastic lots who had always wanted to become a Jedi. The force, while is strong in them could not support their stint in another planet due to logistics and financial reasons.
The academy started with grand celebration as it suppose to send fears among the neighbouring planets which includes planet Tatooin, Dagobah as well as the grand empire of Capitol. The academy was promised a lot of goodies to establish themselves, including generous contribution from the Pendora’s government. A Jedi council was appointed to oversee the program, which was introduced for the first time in Pendora. The young padawans are trained for free.
3 years passed and Pendora started to get intertwined in a big controversy involving a mega scandal. Promises that was made to Uncle Samy’s partner was not fulfilled. Uncle Samy’s partner decides to leave the academy. The academy was caught off guard and decided to bring another Jedi trainer from another part of the same planet Uncle Samy.
While Pendora’s future remains hanging, the young padawans were promised a smooth transition to become a Jedi. The Jedi council kept a close watch as not to compromise the training. The Force and the power of the Dark side need to be kept at bay. One year after the controversy erupted, the first batch of Jedi apprentices graduated. Unfortunately, the academy faced another obstacle. The Jedi council decided not to recognise/accreditate the academy’s training. The Jedi council wary of the influence of the dark side. The council felt that the academy did not fulfil the requirement to train the young padawans, to prevent them from being influenced by the Dark side.
By this time, the force has awaken. The dark side of the force has started to influence the world of Jedis. Pendora’s academy was not the only one that has been producing Jedis’. Many more similar academies from various planets were producing the same. The Jedi’s, which were once considered the crème of the society, are now degraded to unemployable status. The protectors and peacekeepers of the galaxy are now jobless. The Jedi council took it for granted as the dark force died 30 years ago. Little did they expect such a situation. The young graduated Jedis are now being asked to sit for the Jedi Council’s special exams to test their knowledge and mental strength. 6 months has passed with no answer !
Will the unemployed Jedi’s become the next Dark side of the force?
“Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to Anger. Anger leads to Hate. Hate leads to Suffering”
Master Yoda’s quote that still lingers in the minds of the Jedi Council. Will the fear of un-employability of the young Jedis, turn to anger and eventually to the dark side?
The Force has awaken………………. The frustrated Jedis are bound to turn to the dark side. Only time will tell……………

I read your post whenever I receive it in my email. Love them all. Thank you very much.
I’m a doctor working in London, private practice .
Is the ‘far far away galaxy’ mentioned above located somewhere in sungai petani?
Nope, they have been around way longer!
Is it located close to putrajaya and serdang?
Hahahah
There is only one academy with a collaboration with a planet called Uncle Samy. That of course is not related to a former politician.
The most entertaining article so far…=)
Only in Malaysia you do not need to the best in academic or good EQ to become a doctor, all you need is loaded parents & average grades…
I didn’t become a doctor because I couldn’t get into public universities because my grades were not good enough. But those who had poorer grades than me( i was top in the class, they were like 30-40th positions) got to become doctor through IMU (this happen in late 90s)
Nowadays medical schools/colleges are mushrooming, as long as you can afford, you can send your child to do medicine provided he is not an idiot.
Even if you are a relative “idiot”, you can enter med school. There are quite a few students admitted below the minimum qualifications against guidelines. If you know SPM nowadays, you will know the minimum required is actually dismally low.
But if that student is willing to work hard and go through with the course and come out of it knowing what he/she should know, why not? SPM covers so many subjects, maybe the student is only good in a few subjects, therefore the low scores on some. The main point is, even if you manage to get in a medical program, it does not mean you will be able to finish/survive the course, it takes a certain motivation to do so. So we shouldn’t keep comparing how great a medical student one can be by his/her SPM results
This issue has been discussed ad nauseum in the past. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. The way to choose appropriate medical students have been extensively researched, and many countries have adopted strategies to ensure the right candidates are chosen. There is of course no perfect system, but the various methods include special exams, interviews, personality/aptitude testing, etc. Just review the selection processes in advanced countries, and you get the idea.
A common thread throughout these methods has been to choose from amongst the best academic students. In no system is there a recommendation to “let mediocre students try” and hopefully “if they work hard enough they have successfully complete the course”.
Of course, academic performance is no guarantee of becoming a good doctor. That is NOT the same as saying “let them try, and maybe some will become good doctors”.
Why then talk about SPM in the Malaysian context? Because unlike most countries, Malaysia has multiple pathways towards university entrance, from STPM to matrik to A levels to “foundation”. The standards vary significantly. The common thread however, is that the majority will have done SPM. Hence, in light of the difficulty of accessing the real quality of a candidate’s pre-U results, the SPM is taken as a surrogate, taken in conjunction with their pre-U.
That is necessary in an environment where there are so many Medical Schools, and all one needs is money to enter. How else can you explain how people with C’s and D’s in SPM miraculously get CGPA 3.5 at a “foundation” and enter med schools?
You read my mind.someone here said that spm is not relevant when it comes to how great a doctor is, well it is applicable if you study overseas/private colleges, not when your entrance to medical course is via public universities. SPM & STPM are essential keys to get into public medical school and you have to be flawless(straight As) in all subjects, so someone’s argument doesn’t not stand at all.
I still stand with my point that if your parents are loaded, you can do medicine(if u r capable & interested) but if your parents are not so loaded, your ONLY way is through JPA or public universities, which you must score straight As and to pass the interview, end of story.
I think you are absolutely an idiot
thank you, smartguy…
Good day dr.Paga…i’m a medical grad, did my internship here but i did not complete it due to personal reasons,i have since quit my post, recently,i came across an IMU add in the papers advertising masters programmes in Public Health and also Environmental Health..could u advice in regards to the job scope/prospects in both fields, from what i gather both courses do not need me to have a full registration to pursue…i did consider applying to get back into gov service and finish my HOship, but with the current condition i was actually looking to broaden my options work wise..thank you in advance, have a nice day.
as a mbbs student, i feel challenged with homeopathy medicine . as we know they have their own degree such as bachelor of homeopathy medicine and surgery BHMS, and they were plead their syllabus is same like mbbs except allopathy pharmacology. can you explain this issues Dr.Paga? is they legal to practice like modern medicine? why some of them is given ‘DR’ tittle?
Hahahahaha
The solution is to focus more on preventive medicine. There are much more than just clinical medicine. Expand and diversify Public Health branch. Those young padawans can be trained in research. How come there is not even a Health Promotion expert in Malaysia? It’s a big branch in developed nations.
Because, it is entirely a civil service and people look for what can make money!
Congratulations AUCMS students..no need to study so hard to enter UKM..pity the top scorers and 4 flat students who struggled so hard to enter UKM..well thats life..previously UM was hijacked by the Perak College of Medicine students who in the end got MBBS UM certs without even actually studying in UM (imagine that) and now are happily parading their MBBS UM certs as if they studied in UM..a simple question like who is the VC of UM cant even be answered..
I think you are commenting at a wrong post!
Thank you for the enlightening post, highlighting the issue of a certain institution. It seems like it has been a laughing stock amongst the “council of Jedi”. It might have been a mistake from the start, but have the council questioned their actions and the impact on the students? The students are merely a byproduct of council policies, pendora policies and to all the students who are affected, I do sympathize you for falling to the trap of such promises. I believe it is a big fall for the students, and rather than it being made a topic of discussion for the purpose of humoring the public, it should be looked upon and queried what should be done to the students, who are the victims of all the policies.
They just have to sit for any qualification exams that the ‘jedi council’ conducts. If you are good you should pass. As I had written in this blog many times, nothing is guaranteed and you should know what you are getting yourself into. Despite all the advise in this blog, some still take the risk.
